A Feldenkrais Center in the capital

Paris 14 An enduring legacy

Twelve years after PARIS 13, Myriam Pfeffer's last professional training course, PARIS 14 takes up the torch under the pedagogical direction of Sabine Pfeffer. Myriam Pfeffer, who introduced the Feldenkrais Method to the French-speaking countries of Europe, was trained by Moshe Feldenkrais during the very first professional training course. Her daughter Sabine Pfeffer was by her side during her years as a teacher, and attended Dr. Feldenkrais' final professional training course in the United States. Together with Myriam, she founded and directed the Parisian Accord Mobile center, where, from 1988 to 2012, the first practitioners in France learned and were certified. It is therefore not only with fidelity to the source, but in close proximity to it, that PARIS 14 founds its teaching. This heritage will be put to use, on the occasion of PARIS 14, in the service of the individual experience of each student, in the service of innovation in practice, and in the service of transmission itself, an element at the heart of the Feldenkrais Method.

Eilat Almagor, a 1983 graduate of Moshe Feldenkrais' training in Amherst, is an international trainer of the Feldenkrais Method. She holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology, an M.S. in Environmental Science and a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics. In recent years, Eilat has led a project to integrate Feldenkrais classes into schools and has collaborated with neuroscientists in Israel and Germany in scientific research to study the effects of the Feldenkrais Method on brain activity. She teaches, with Professor Dorit Aharonov, an experimental course at the School of Computer Science at the University of Jerusalem. The course combines theoretical computer courses with movement courses in the Feldenkrais Method. This learning method is unconventional at the university, and the course contains exercises that allow for introspection in the learning process itself.

Christine Barrat – Trainer

Christine Barrat – Trainer

Certified as a Trainer in 2014, my practice has turned towards training practitioners, and post-training. My career path began with training as a physiotherapist (1987), providing a solid foundation in anatomy, physiology and movement analysis. Immediately afterwards, I sought a practice that addressed the whole human being, which led me to discover the Feldenkrais Method. At the crossroads of health maintenance, artistic and personal development, including prevention through awareness. I joined the Feldenkrais Training Course in Rome (1988-1992) under the direction of Carl Ginsburg.Involved in the development of the Method within Feldenkrais France, I rubbed shoulders with many Trainers, and shared this passion for learning and transmission. Then 6 years with EuroTAB, an international working and reflection group dealing with qualitative and quantitative criteria for training, and the trainers' curriculum, were a source of encounters, exchanges and clarification of pedagogical processes. Since the creation of IFELD, as Assistant Trainer I have had the opportunity to observe and assist, teach and receive supervision from renowned trainers. I'm continuing on this path as a Trainer and will continue to be present at certain times in the role of Assistant Trainer, enabling me to accompany trainees more individually according to their needs.Outside training,...

Lionel González – Assistant & Co-organizer

After studies in engineering sciences and a master's degree in mathematics, he changed his path completely to become an actor. It was at the Ecole Internationale Jacques Lecoq that he first heard of Moshe Feldenkrais.  After completing his theatrical training, he joined a number of collectives and ran his own company. His work as an actor, director and teacher led him to travel extensively: he worked in France, of course, but also in Poland, Italy, Romania, Switzerland, Russia and Israel.  He trained as a Feldenkrais Method practitioner with Myriam Pfeffer at Accord Mobile's latest training course in Paris 13. It was there that he met Sabine Pfeffer, with whom he became close friends. Since the end of his training in 2012, he has trained with her continuously.  He has been a Trainer Assistant since July 2024.  It's the place he's been building for almost ten years now that will host this new training course, for which he will be one of the organizers and for which he will be the Continuity Assistant.

The Place: "Le Balagan’ retrouvé"

A beautiful 120m2 room with solid chestnut parquet flooring. Additional spaces of around fifty square meters offer all the amenities needed for everyone's comfort (toilet, shower, large fireplace with kitchen area, fridge, microwave oven). The space also boasts a large outdoor courtyard with garden furniture (tables, chairs) that can be used during breaks, weather permitting.

The venue is located in Vitry-sur-Seine, 10 minutes from the Villejuif-Louis-Aragon metro station (line 7). This line takes you to the center of Paris in less than 30 min. The area is very quiet, with lots of trees, and offers a real sense of change of scenery, quite exceptional for its proximity to Paris.
