Anke Recktenwald’s love for horses began at age six. Her professional career took off in 1993 as a skilled equine manager. Renowned for her ability to rehabilitate “unrideable” horses, Anke earned a reputation for restoring trust and confidence in difficult cases, transforming them into beloved riding companions. During this time, she became a certified Tellington TTouch® and Centered Riding® instructor and developed a passion for endurance riding. Managing up to 60 horses, her work included training, breeding, riding lessons, and hoof care. In 2000, she earned her Master of Horse Management (FN) but had to pivot her career due to a severe disk prolapse. This setback led her to the Feldenkrais Method®, where she completed a four-year training program and returned as a Feldenkrais practitioner, horse trainer, and equestrian. Combining her expertise, she began teaching clinics across Europe and Switzerland and assisting Linda Tellington-Jones in workshops worldwide. Anke also became a certified HeartMath® therapist, further expanding her holistic approach. She has worked with esteemed equestrians like Olympic riders Ingrid Klimke and Klaus Balkenhol and collaborated with organizations such as A.N.T.A.C. in Italy and the XENOPHON Society for Classical Riding. Recognized as one of Germany’s top 50 riding instructors by Mein Pferd magazine, Anke continues to focus on equine therapy, supporting therapy horses, and creating valuable teaching materials for her students.
