Nikos Appelqvist at the Forest Lighthouse

A certified Feldenkrais practitioner and co-founder of the Forest Lighthouse Center in Brussels, he has been practicing the Feldenkrais Method® since 2020, following his training in the “Cantal 1” program in France. In 2015, he co-founded Feldenkrais Education, a project he continues to pursue passionately, aiming to expand the reach of this method and make its principles accessible to a wider audience. With the creation of Forest Lighthouse, a center dedicated to somatic education, he strives to explore various somatic disciplines and deepen his understanding of cognitive, physical, and emotional approaches, with the goal of enhancing quality of life and offering these opportunities to others.

His dedication goes far beyond the creation of these centers: he plays a key role in organizing professional Feldenkrais training programs in Brussels (Brussels 1, 2, 3, and 4 series), guiding students throughout their four-year journeys. His language skills have enabled him to translate these programs, a process that allowed him to collaborate with internationally renowned trainers. Additionally, his translation work includes adapting the best-seller “A Busy Person’s Guide to the Feldenkrais Method” into French, making the method accessible to the French-speaking public.

Within Feldenkrais Education, he is committed to designing respectful and sustainable marketing approaches, aimed at supporting and serving the community. He also develops innovative online tools to modernize somatic practices and make them accessible to a broader audience. As a guest teacher, he has lectured at prestigious institutions such as INSAS and Docnomads, as well as at schools and universities. These initiatives demonstrate his commitment to showcasing the educational and transformative potential of the neurosomatic approach while contributing to its broader integration into diverse learning contexts.

In addition, he offers weekly classes and individual Functional Integration sessions, helping clients enhance their body awareness and improve their movement quality. He works with a wide range of individuals, including those suffering from chronic pain or physical disorders, musicians, athletes, seniors, and people recovering from accidents.

Convinced that education and awareness are essential pillars of individual and collective growth, he incorporates the Feldenkrais Method and Dr. Schubiner’s Unlearning Pain therapy into his practice. His holistic approach reflects his profound conviction: to provide everyone with the means to explore and fully realize their potential.
