In the first part of the event, Robert Sussuma will share his unique approach, blending expertise in voice and somatic education into a unified discipline. Robert has developed a groundbreaking pedagogy that integrates experiential learning, somatic education, vocal science, technique, and personal growth. His method offers vocalists a transformative pathway to enhance their artistry and well-being.

The second part of the event features three short documentaries:

1.The first highlights Marie Adeline Henry, an opera singer, and how the Feldenkrais Method helped her overcome burnout and transform her vocal practice, enabling her to return to the stage.

2. The second features Anita Morrison, who integrates the Feldenkrais Method into her teaching approach with 8-13 year old choristers and Cambridge university students, demonstrating how she incorporates learning strategies into vocal warm-ups.

3. The third presents Aline Seytre’s work, a speech therapist, specialized in working with individuals experiencing voice disorders or neurological dysarthria

The event will conclude with a Q&A session with Robert Sussuma.

A Somatic Approach to Finding Your Voice

Most approaches to voice and performance focus on surface-level solutions—temporary fixes that offer fleeting results but fail to foster real growth. Exercises may provide short-term relief, but they rarely lead to lasting transformation.

So, what sets Robert Sussuma’s Feldenkrais-inspired approach apart?

It’s not just a collection of warmups or vocal “how-tos.” It’s an immersive somatic process—a journey that replaces anxiety with curiosity, and transforms singing and teaching into dynamic, ongoing explorations.
