In this conference, Yvo will examine the latest neuroscientific insights into chronic pain and predictive processing, offering a deeper understanding of how the brain generates pain or discomfort. He will introduce an experience-based, comprehensive model for addressing chronic pain, focusing on the dynamic interaction of four essential components: cognition, sensing, emotion, and movement. The approach emphasizes on recognising patterns, enhancing differentiation and granulation of experiences, and empowering individuals to regain agency over their lives.
Through several case studies, Yvo will demonstrate how Feldenkrais strategies create a supportive learning environment, using functional movement lessons and somatic tracking to help the brain un-learn patterns of heightened alertness and to develop nuanced awareness. These lessons can seamlessly integrate with established approaches to enhance resilience and adaptability.
The conference will emphasize the importance of a flexible, neuro-somatic methodology that incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotional awareness, sensory processing, and movement-based practices, including touch. This research-backed, process-oriented framework offers a unique approach to designing tailored interventions that address the distinct needs of each individual.
The event will conclude with a Q&A session.
